Walk us through your background- Tell us more about you and what you do

I’m an R&B/Soul singer based in New York and originally from Miami, FL. I’m Cuban and Jamaican. My music is empowering to my listeners, especially women.

What inspires you?

I’m inspired by nature, powerful storytelling and by my imagination.

What are some of the obstacles you've faced and how has it made you better?

My parents got divorced when I was young and that was a really tough, confusing time in my life. We moved from my childhood neighborhood in MD to Miami in the middle of high school and moved in with my grandparents so that my parents could save money and buy a house. It was a challenging time but I turned to music to express myself and wrote songs that helped me heal.

What do you think makes your music different from other artist?

I write from my soul. I write songs that are meant to help people heal and empower them.

It's important to give yourself credit; What do you feel is/are your biggest accomplishment(s) to date?

I’ve had many people come to me to tell me that my music has helped them through a hard time and that to me is my greatest accomplishment. That to me is true success.

What are some things that you still want to accomplish?

I want to go on a world tour, win Grammys, star in a movie, work with my favorite songwriters and producers, start a music school that incorporates artist development.

What new music do you have coming up?

JADE Vol. 2 coming soon.

What do you want people to takeaway from your music?

I want the music to make them feel good. Make them feel like they can do anything and be anything they want to be.

Finally, If you had a message to give to any artist coming behind you, what would it be?

Be patient and stay dedicated to practicing your craft. Do everything and learn everything you can about your craft and the business of it.
