Chelsea Luv (SoFlo Artist)

Chelsea Love is a young R&B crooner from Miami, Florida. At only 17 years old her talent surpasses her age. I recently had a chance to speak with her in regards to a show that I’m apart of entitled “Tiny Stage”.

Although. the show has been recently postponed due to corona. I got to learn a little bit about her.

Walk us through your background- Tell us more about you and your music

Well I’ve always loved to sing no doubt. Growing up, I was always doing something creative whether it be singing, painting, dancing, etc. So, to nurture the artist in myself I was enrolled in performing arts schools (that I currently still attend) where I study voice and commercial music.

What inspires you?

I find inspiration in everything. I am inspired by my own life experiences, what I witness others go through, and even nature. I use my surroundings and situations to create. I’m also inevitably inspired by the amazing artists that have come before me and their music

What are some of the obstacles you've faced and how has it made you better?

Oooh I like this one. One of the most challenging obstacles I’ve faced has been finding my sound and who I am as an artist, which has been a lot of trial and error but has definitely pushed me to be my most authentic self creatively.

What do you think makes your music different from other artist?

My music is different because it’s 100% me. From the way I write, to my tone/delivery, to my energy. Everything’s distinctive. People will have their comparisons, but my sound is exclusively mine because I can only be myself and that’s something no one else can do.

What new music do you have coming up?

Soooo I currently have an EP in the works which I’m extremely excited about. I won’t give too many details yet but I can say that it has a few stories to tell and some nice R&B vibes.

What do you want people to takeaway from your music?

Every one of my songs holds a message, and that’s because I write about the things that I go through and grow from, learn a lesson from, heal from and I share that in my music. I want people to be inspired by the stories of growth, learning, and healing.
