Walk us through your background- Tell us more about you and your music
I’m from East Atlanta born and raised . When I was little my mom always used to play R&B Soul Music around me and that’s all I heard . From artists such as Tank , Musiq Soulchild , Usher , Neyo etc . So I started singing around 4 years old and every since then, I never stopped. I joined my church choir and that helped me with my vocal arrangements . I made my first track when I was in the 9th grade in high school. It was tough because I was in and out of trouble getting locked up and it kinda set me back from doing music. So I had to change the people around me and get around something I could learn and grow from. A couple years go by I met my homie KDZY at Berean hooping and the rest was history. I respect him and how he carried himself and his music. He had a session wit OBNDZ and that’s how I met him. Now me and him really did music for five years straight, and we even lost sleep most nights (mostly him, because he did all the mixing and producing.) I can’t lie he pushed me to another level on the music and I respected him for that. As far as my music goes I make music about what I’ve been through and how I had to come out of it, everything is straight up no cap in my rap . I never cared about negative comments, I never got ‘em so I knew then that I could do the music because I can actually sing soulfully and switch it up to Rap singing.
What inspires you?
When I first seen Chris Brown video for Yo’ I knew that’s where I wanted to be and what I wanted to do. More importantly my mom inspires me a lot as well seeing her sing and do her career in it makes me want to do the same. I've always loved to hear my mom and aunts sing a song that they made up in harmony. That was always dope to me and my cousins. They inspire me as well they dealt with all the songs I would remake just playing around in the house.
What are some of the obstacles you've faced and how has it made you better?
Honestly being locked up at 16 -17 really made me look at life differently I knew the things I was doing was not gone end well . So I wanted a better life and I knew my family wanted better for me as well . So that was a life changer for me and it has made me a better person.
What is your 5 year plan for your music and for yourself?
Honestly, I believe I can sell gold records with my talents and that’s being real . I can see me being a big artist and growing building and mastering my craft . I want to be financially stable and comfortable while doing my music with no worries. My five year life plan would be to simply do the music and just be heard by people. Being able to be a local artist would be fine, as I would still be able to do something that I love to do and build my craft.
What do you want people to takeaway from your music?
I want them to take good vibes and be able to listen to it with whatever you’re going through . I want them to actually feel the music the lyrics and the melody . I want them to really understand where I’m coming from which is the heart and understand why I take my music seriously .
