Rapper Sade Vann is holding her own and putting on for men and women rappers everywhere. She has better bars than some of your favorite artists. I went through her freestyles recently and heard “Bryant Flex” & “Back to the topic” freestyle (One of my favorite J.cole tracks btw) and she held her own. Today I got to tap in with her and learn more. Check out the full interview with the North Carolina native below:

Walk us through your background- Tell us more about you and your music

I grew up in Salisbury, North Carolina in a house on Second Street, that's where I found my creativity and love for music. I was always writing something on paper poems, songs, but my older brother inspired me to rap. I took it serious when I got to college and realized people were listening. My music has many styles I'm a lyrically, versatile artist. I can go bar for bar, give you a club track, or have you on a vibe.

What inspires you?

What inspires me honestly are the the wins and losses I take when it comes to making music your reality. It teaches you something new each day, and when its really for you... it won't ever leave you alone.

What are some of the obstacles you've faced and how has it made you better?

Being a female artist you come across many obstacles but the biggest one would be finding people you can work with, who are really about business!! As an artist you have to invest in yourself, there's no way round it!! I'm about business, no handouts no paybacks. I've had investments I was looking forward to walk away because I strictly wanted to handle business. It's made me better as an artist in many ways, I'm even more careful now on who I even attempting to do business dealings with.

What is your 5 year plan for your music and for yourself?

My five year plan is to grow and invest in as many ways as I can as an artist on a professional level. I see myself, my brand, my music, everywhere within the next three to five years.

What do you want people to takeaway from your music?

I want people to take away something new every time they listen to a song. whether it be a new bar they just understood or a medley they just caught. I want my music to never get old to the listener.

Where can people find your music?

People can find my music on Soundcloud and Instagram. Available Soon on Spotify and Apple Music.
